  5. Cap the Ends: Immediately place protective caps on both the patch cord and the device port to prevent dust or scratches on the fiber endface .

Post-Removal Care

  • Inspect the fiber endface for dust or scratches using a fiber inspection microscope if available .
  • Clean the connector with a lint-free pad and isopropyl alcohol or a dedicated fiber cleaning kit before reconnecting .
