How to view the core switch IP address

You can view a core switch's IP address using console access, CLI commands, DHCP lookup, or network discovery tools.

Direct Console Access

The most reliable method is to connect directly to the switch's console port using a console cable and a terminal emulator like PuTTY or SecureCRT. Once connected, enter privileged EXEC mode and run the command show ip interface brief to display all configured IP addresses, including the management VLAN (usually VLAN 1) or any other VLAN assigned for management purposes . This method works for both Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches.

Using CLI via SSH or Telnet

If the switch is already reachable on the network, you can connect via SSH or Telnet.
