Structural Features

ADSS cables are all-dielectric, meaning they contain no metal and can support their own weight between towers, typically up to 700 meters per span . The internal fibers are arranged in loose buffer tubes or ribbon configurations, often with excess slack to minimize strain . The cable core is reinforced with aramid yarns (Kevlar®) or FRP rods to provide tensile strength and stability . The outer sheath is usually polyethylene (PE) or PE-A, resistant to UV and arc-tracking in high-voltage environments .
