Firmware or software issues on the switch may exacerbate these problems .
Temperature fluctuations, humidity, and poor ventilation can impact transceiver performance. Excessive optical power can distort signals, while insufficient power can weaken reception. Poor cable management, excessive bending, or too many connections in a channel can increase insertion loss beyond acceptable limits, leading to link instability .
In short, optical switch disconnections are typically caused by a combination of physical connector problems, transceiver degradation, cable or fiber issues, compatibility mismatches, and environmental stressors. Regular inspection, proper cleaning, correct transceiver selection, and monitoring optical power levels are essential preventive measures to maintain stable connectivity .
