Step 3: Fusion Splicing

  1. Take the factory-terminated connector end of the pigtail.
  2. Insert it into the optical module or transceiver port until it clicks or seats firmly.
  3. Ensure the connector type (LC, SC, MPO, etc.) matches the module port and that the polish type (UPC or APC) is compatible .

Step 5: Test the Connection

After installation, verify the connection using an optical power meter or OTDR to check for signal loss and back reflection. Proper testing ensures the splice and module connection meet network performance standards .
